 With more and more people storing their digital files on their PC, it is no wonder that this survey found that people consider their digital photos to be their most valuable files in their computers. The
Carbonite study published in December 2011 revealed that 78% of those surveyed used their digital cameras for taking photos. However, 59% of those surveyed said that they also use smartphones and cell phones to take photos.
Of those who use their smartphones to take pictures, two-thirds simply leave their photos in their devices without backing them up to a computer. Of those who use their digital cameras to take photos, about 80% move their photos onto their computers. Carbonite suggests that people who store a lot of digital files and photos on their computers should make it a point to
backup their files remotely, or to the cloud.

If you really value your photos, you really have to make sure that you protect them and back them up safely in a remote location. If you lose your photos as a result of your hard drive crashing or some sort of unfortunate disaster, at least you don't have to worry about losing your family photos. Countless number of times, people have expressed regret and sorrow for not having backed up their precious photos online after experiencing unforseen damages brought on their computers as a result of a natural or man-made disaster.
